The SOBS of Brunswick County, NC, dance on the 2nd Friday of the month at the Oak Island VFW Post #10226, 103 S. 50th St. near Oak Island Drive, and on the 4th Friday of the month at the Oak Island Moose Lodge #2059 Family Center, 4239 Long Beach Rd. SE. A Shag step or Line dance lesson is usually taught at 6 PM before the dance begins. Dances begin at 6:30 PM.

towns, but they are all there for one reason, to enjoy the
Carolina shag!
The SOBS will greet you with open arms (that just doesn’t sound right, does it?). But, our name has got to give you a clue that we have a sense of humor!
1The Oak Island VFW is a smaller dance venue with a tile floor of 12' x 35' and seating of about 100. Smoking is only allowed in their separate bar area.
2The Oak Island Moose Lodge Family Center has a tile dance floor of 24' x 50' with seating of about 200. This is a non-smoking facility.
3The SOBS only schedule the best of Shag/Beach Music DJs in the area. We have 2 scheduled dances a month.
